BOT

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) is a professional undergraduate program focused on helping individuals with physical, mental, or developmental challenges regain independence in their daily activities. The course trains students in therapeutic techniques to improve motor skills, cognitive abilities, and overall quality of life for patients affected by injuries, disabilities, or illnesses. It covers subjects such as human anatomy, physiology, psychology, rehabilitation science, and occupational therapy techniques. The program includes practical training, clinical exposure, and internships to develop hands-on skills in patient rehabilitation and therapy.

To pursue BOT, students must have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognized board. Most institutions require a minimum aggregate score between 45% and 60%, depending on the college or university. Admission is generally based on merit or entrance exams conducted by universities or state authorities. Students should have a strong interest in healthcare, patience, empathy, and good communication skills, as the course involves working closely with patients.

After completing BOT, students have excellent career opportunities in the healthcare and rehabilitation sector. They can work as occupational therapists in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, mental health institutions, special schools, and NGOs. BOT graduates help patients recover from injuries, improve daily functioning, and lead independent lives. They can also specialize in areas such as pediatric therapy, neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care, or pursue higher studies like Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT). With increasing awareness of rehabilitation services, BOT offers strong career growth, job stability, and opportunities both in India and abroad.
